Pumpkin Palooza

Start a new tradition with Continuing Education, the College of Science, Technology and Agriculture and the Historical Association of Greater Cape Girardeau – a BYOP (bring your own pumpkin) party! We’ll provide patterns, tools, tarps, paints, paintbrushes, and all the accoutrements, including a candle! Just bring your creativity! Leave the mess at home and celebrate with us!

Beware, this isn’t your average Halloween event. From spooky science to scary stories and haunting history, we have it all in one fun-filled FREE afternoon.

Special “Halloween” Tours of the Glenn house are $5pp (12 and under are free during this event!) Snacks are available for purchase.

FAQ and Important Information

Where is Pumpkin Palooza located and where do I check in?

Pumpkin Palooza is located at the historic Glenn House at 325 South Spanish Street in Cape Girardeau Missouri. Check in tables will be available in the front as well as the back yard of the house. For more information on the Glenn House, please visit their Facebook page.

Where do we park once arriving at the Glenn House?

Street parking is available along Spanish Street additional parking is available in the River Campus parking lots. Guests are asked NOT to park in the Knights of Columbus Hall parking lot due to an event scheduled that evening. Violators of this request may be towed.

What does B.Y.O.P. mean?

Bring Your Own Pumpkin. We will provide assistance with carving, patterns and craft supplies for decoration. You are welcome to bring any carving kits/templates of your own as well. At dusk, we will light all the carved pumpkins for a special “pumpkin glow.”

Are you looking for some fun and adventure this Halloween? Follow the lantern of your costumed guide through downtown and let the darkness of the past envelop you. Cape Girardeau’s historic downtown is full of “true” tales of ghosts and memorable characters.

Join us for our new frightfully fun adventure, “Boos on Broadway.” Follow the Broadway corridor from the river and hear chilling tales of haunted opera houses, frightening furniture makers, murders, mayhem and more. Come dressed appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes for this adventure.
